Terms of use
Last updated: 2026-10-17. These terms apply to the free version of the Geocode & Maps for Sheets add-on and to this website.
Who provides the add-on
Marc Duran López · tax ID (NIF) 47894988H · Calle Jacinto Verdaguer 13, 08620 Sant Vicenç dels Horts (Barcelona) · contacto@engranalab.com
The free add-on
The add-on is provided free of charge. By installing or using it you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, uninstall it. The Pro features are not part of the free add-on. Sheets Pro by Engranalab is one subscription shared with other Engranalab add-ons for Sheets. It is free while it is in beta; during the beta it may change or be withdrawn, and the price (currently planned at 5 € per month or 48 € per year, VAT included) will apply only from the launch date, which we will announce by email before anything is charged.
Provided "as is"
The add-on is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind beyond those that cannot be excluded by law. We do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error free, that it will keep working if Google or the geocoding providers change, or that coordinates, distances and travel times are correct, complete or up to date. Geocoding can place an address in the wrong spot, and a result marked center or approximate is only that. Check the results before relying on them, especially for deliveries, routes, emergencies or anything safety related.
Google quotas and third-party terms
- The free add-on uses the Maps service of Google Apps Script, which runs under your Google account and counts against Google's own daily quota (about 1,000 requests per day on personal accounts and 10,000 on Google Workspace, resetting at midnight Pacific Time). The quota and its cost are Google's, not ours. See the documentation.
- Results come from third parties: Google Maps and, if you add your own key (Pro), Google Maps Platform, OpenCage or Geoapify. You are bound by their terms of service and licence terms, including any rules on storing, caching, combining or displaying their results on a map. We do not grant you any right over their data. Check that your use is allowed before you store or publish their results.
- The map tiles and map data come from OpenStreetMap and are © OpenStreetMap contributors (Open Database Licence). The public OpenStreetMap tile servers are meant for light use under the OpenStreetMap tile usage policy; do not use the map dialog or a shared map to download tiles in bulk.
- The add-on records which provider produced each result in a
providercolumn and shows Geocoding by Google on the map when it applies. Keep those notices when you share or publish a map. - The add-on runs on Google Apps Script and is subject to its quotas and limits (execution time, daily quotas, cell limits of Google Sheets). See the documentation.
- We may change or discontinue the free add-on or any of its features. If we do, we will say so on this website.
Acceptable use
- You are responsible for the data you geocode, map and share, and for having the right to process it. If it identifies people, the data protection rules apply to you as well.
- A shared map is public to anyone with its link. Do not publish personal data, other people's home addresses, confidential locations, or anything unlawful, defamatory or that infringes someone's rights. We may remove a shared map that breaks these terms and disable sharing for the account that created it.
- Do not use the add-on, the shared map pages or the Pro server to attack, overload or scrape services, to bypass the quotas of Google or of any provider, or to resell their data.
- Do not try to disrupt the add-on or this website.
Your data
Your sheets, addresses and coordinates stay in your Google account and with the services you choose, except the shared maps you decide to publish. How the little we do receive is handled is described in theprivacy policy.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, loss of data, loss of profit, wrong deliveries, missed appointments or decisions taken based on the results. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, nor the mandatory rights you may have as a consumer.
Governing law
These terms are governed by Spanish law. Without prejudice to the mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence, any dispute will be submitted to the courts of the operator's domicile in Spain.
